What is IBAN?

IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is a unique code with 22-30 characters length consisting of alphabets and numbers.


2 first letters are country’s code, continued with special code, then branch code, and recipient’s bank code. So, the function of IBAN is to help the identification process of the recipient’s bank account. You’ll need IBAN when you want to send money to European Countries, Turkey, and Pakistan.
