Send money to India with UPI
What is UPI?
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is an instant payment system in India that allows money to be sent to a recipient using their UPI ID, without needing their bank account details.
How does UPI work?
When you send money to a recipient's UPI ID, the payment is processed through UPI and sent to the bank account linked to that UPI ID.
How does the recipient get a UPI ID?
If your recipient doesn't have a UPI ID yet, they can create one in 4 quick steps:
- Download a UPI-enabled app (such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM).
- Sign up and link the app to an Indian bank account.
- Create and verify UPI ID.
- Share the UPI ID to receive transfers.
