How to set up a receiving account for WeChat Pay

First-time recipients need to set up their receiving account through the official Cross-border Remittance (跨境汇款) Mini Program in WeChat.

Setup steps:

1. Open Mini Programs from the Discover tab in WeChat.

2. Search for 跨境汇款 (Cross-border Remittance) and open it.

3. Tap 我要收款 (I want to receive money).

4. Tap 创建名片，去收款 (Create card to receive money).

5. Complete the recipient card.

Things to note after setup:

• The recipient can collect money via WeChat Pay balance or a linked bank account, depending on their choice.
• WeChat may ask the recipient for additional documents, which the recipient must submit via the Mini Program.
• After each transfer, the recipient will receive an SMS from WeChat (Weixin) containing a link to the Cross-border Remittance Mini Program, where they can check the transfer status. The recipient can also access the Mini Program by searching for it on WeChat.
