# How to set up a receiving account for WeChat Pay

First-time recipients need to set up their receiving account through the official **Cross-border Remittance (跨境汇款)** Mini Program in WeChat.

Setup steps:
1. Open **Mini Programs** from the **Discover** tab in WeChat.

2. Search for **跨境汇款** (Cross-border Remittance) and open it.

3. Tap **我要收款** (I want to receive money).

4. Tap **创建名片，去收款** (Create card to receive money).

5. Complete the **recipient card**.

Things to note after setup:
* The recipient can collect money via WeChat Pay balance or a linked bank account, depending on their choice.
* WeChat may ask the recipient for additional documents, which the recipient must submit via the Mini Program.
* After each transfer, the recipient will receive an SMS from WeChat (Weixin) containing a link to the Cross-border Remittance Mini Program, where they can check the transfer status. The recipient can also access the Mini Program by searching for it on WeChat.
